If you turn your gaze to the left of the wall, with the main entrance behind you, you see a maple tree where the artist Lott Alfred’s neon leaf lights up day and night. The artist, who is active in Stockholm and Hindås, has previously worked on phosphorescent light phenomenons, like the artwork you see in front of you.
The leaf’s vibrant green and flowing shape contrasts the black background and the brown tree trunk. The idea originated from a boy in Alby when Lott Alfreds was working with kids and teens to acknowledge their forms of expression. Using neon, the artist makes symbols that we share and exhibit our creativity.
The leaf becomes a symbol of an idea forming and how it’s shaped.
