On the entrance door to Studio 3, is an artwork from the Stockholm-based artist Perinie Paints. Her works are inspired by nature. The paintings, which are colorful and lively, depict plants and mushrooms, and sometimes animals. Occasionally, you can catch glimpses of people and societal portrayals in Perinie’s paintings, but they are not the focal point. Instead, we peer into the world of nature from the artist’s perspective. The vulture on the door at Subtopia is adorned with a fancy collar around its neck, a bow around its beak, and surrounded by foliage.
The title of the piece, “Sekretessarinnan” comes from the word “confidentiality.” The vulture can’t say anything but will gladly listen, and the Swedish word “-arinnan” denotes someone who is grand, hence the fancy collar.
