If you take a few steps back and look to your left, at the very end of an alleyway, you will find the artwork by the Swedish artist, art educator, and art activist, Saadia Hussain. Saadia sees art as a language she uses to communicate her message and she wants to share art and creativity with other people. The creative process has been a vital part of her life for exploring, questioning, creating, and sharing.
Born in Pakistan and raised in Sweden, Saadia carries both her homeland and her motherland with her. Her themes often revolve around a search for identity. The loss, the finding, and the longing to find home.
Saadia has led several art projects, both nationally and internationally, and worked with many people from different disciplines. She has developed a method for creative collaboration among people where they have the opportunity to share their lives, experiences, and history, without any demands on their artistic ability. Saadia wants to send the message that art and the process is an experience. She wants more people to see the power of art and the possibilities it creates.
