By the loading dock on the gable of Subtopia’s main building, is an artwork by Kenny and Brain. Both grew up in Norsborg in Stockholm. Lee, who calls himself Brain, comes from the world of graffiti and Kenny is a jack of all trades who works with everything from surfing to events. However, creativity they have in common.
In the 80s, Lee and his friends used to graffa (short for painting graffiti) and a friend of Lee’s used to bring his six-year younger brother with him. That little brother was Kenny. Many years later, they bumped into each other on the street and decided to go grab a coffee and talk about what had happened since last. They talked about old times, memories and about the fun and the sad things that had happened in Norsborg. During their conversation, they noticed how much they had in common and started a collaboration together, where they met in their love of creativity.
Their collaboration extends over multiple projects, including this piece at Subtopia. The idea of it came once they were on site. Together they started to brainstorm, consume several cups of coffee, and six hours later, the piece was complete.
