On a door in one of our courtyards is a portrait of Vincent Van Gogh. Cezary, the artist of this work, wanted to emphasize Van Gogh’s character by placing a fragment of Vincent’s painting “Country Road in Provence by Night” in the background of the portrait. Cezary is inspired by other artists and their works and feels that he gets closer to the artist through portraits and sees the individual from a new perspective.
After painting realistically for a long time, Cezary found it both boring and exhausting. Therefore, he began to experiment with more spontaneous techniques, such as pouring, splashing or spreading paint. For him, painting is a fundamental part of his life and he is constantly searching for new techniques and expressions. By accepting mistakes as part of the artistic process, he feels that art becomes more playful and liberating.
With this painting in our outdoor gallery, Cezary wants to be part of a creative atmosphere that gives artists the opportunity to experiment, grow and find new ways to express themselves, whether it’s with a brush on canvas or graffiti on a large wall.
