On the back of the entrance doors to Studio 3 hangs a colorful dripping-style portrait of the Danish tightrope walker Elvira Madigan, created by the artist Martin Monet. Martin, with roots in Venezuela, France, the USA, England, and Sweden, works as a language teacher and street artist. Although drawing has always been an interest and a way for him to maintain focus during long meetings, it wasn’t until a trip to Barcelona that he dared to fully commit to his art.
Martin’s unique style emerged organically when he realized how difficult it is to create perfect portraits with spray paint without any spills. He chose to make the dripping style his signature and has produced over 700 works. His portraits consistently depict individuals who have had the courage to forge their own path.
